Arizona’s Trade with Mexico Surges in June; Modest Changes with Canada

Arizona exports to Mexico continued to post strong year-over-year growth in June, while exports to Canada saw smaller growth. Arizona exports to Mexico rose 77.1% to $1.4 billion, and exports to Canada rose 1.8% to $251.2 million.

On the import side, Arizona over the year imports from Mexico saw solid growth, while imports from Canada decreased. June imports from Mexico rose 39.6% to $1.3 billion, while imports from Canada fell 11.1% to $203.8 million.

Commodity flows through Arizona’s BPOE saw an increase in exports and a slight decrease in imports. Over the year in June, exports rose 9.5% to $1.1 billion, while imports edged down 2.0% to $2.5 billion.
