Arizona exports to Mexico more than triple in January

Over the year, Arizona exports to Mexico more than tripled, while exports to Canada decreased. Arizona exports to Mexico rose 354.2% to $3.7 billion, while exports to Canada fell 1.8% to $231.2 million.

On the import side, year-over-year imports from both Mexico and Canada decreased in January. Imports from Mexico dropped 19.9% to $805.2 million, and imports from Canada fell 17.8% to $186.4 million.

Commodity flows through Arizona’s BPOE saw decreases in both exports and imports. Year-over-year exports fell 6.8% to $991.5 million, and imports dropped 20.3% to $1.9 billion.
