Exports to Mexico surge in December

Over the year, Arizona exports to Mexico surged, while exports to Canada saw smaller growth. Arizona exports to Mexico rose 58.1% to $1.1 billion, while exports to Canada grew at a slower pace of 3.6% to $291.0 million.

On the import side, year-over-year imports from Mexico saw little growth, while imports from Canada fell. Imports from Mexico increased 0.6% to $862.9 million, and imports from Canada fell 28.0% to $163.6 million.

Commodity flows through Arizona’s BPOE saw increases in both exports and imports. Year-over-year exports rose 5.6% to $1.1 billion, and imports increased 10.0% to $2.2 billion.
