Arizona exports to Mexico explode while little else changes

Over the year, Arizona exports to Mexico more than quadrupled, while exports to Canada moderated. Arizona exports to Mexico surged 304.8% year-over-year to $3.1 billion, and exports to Canada fell 9.2% to $188.2 million.

On the import side, year-over-year imports from Mexico decreased, while imports from Canada saw slight gains. Imports from Mexico fell 18.6% to $656.8 million, while imports from Canada rose 6.3% to $209.0 million.

Commodity flows through Arizona’s BPOE saw a rise in exports and a smaller increase in imports. Year-over-year exports rose 12.4% to $1.1 billion, and imports saw a smaller growth of 0.7% to $1.8 billion.
