Arizona trade with Canada rose in May, while for Mexico exports decreased while imports show strong gains
Arizona exports to Mexico decreased 4.6% over the year in May, totaling $710.6 million. Exports to Canada increased by 21.0% over the year to $233.6 million, still lower than their peak in March.
Imports from Mexico rose 8.1% to a total of $1.1 billion. Imports from Canada increased by 15.8%, hitting $255.2 million.

Commodity flows through Arizona’s BPOE saw a decrease in exports and strong gains in imports. Exports in May were down 3.8% over the year to $1.0 billion. Imports were up 14.0% compared to May 2022, ascending to $2.2 billion.
