Arizona trade sinks in November

Arizona exports to Mexico continued their over-the-year losing streak in November, falling by 16.2% to $610.3 million. Exports to Canada also saw an over-the-year decrease in November, falling 8.2% to $187.2 million.

Imports mirrored the decreases seen in exports. Arizona experienced a 2.3% over-the-year decrease in imports from Mexico, totaling $875.4 million. Imports from Canada saw a more severe decrease, falling 28.0% to $184.8 million.

Commodity flows through Arizona’s BPOE experienced a slight decrease in exports and strong import growth. Exports in November were down 3.6% to $970.2 million compared to the previous year, while imports saw a notable 19.4% increase to $1.9 billion.
