Arizona trade with Canada and imports from Mexico rose, while exports to Mexico fell

Arizona exports to Mexico decreased significantly by 9.2% over the year in July, totaling $640.3 million. Exports to Canada increased by 23.4% over the year to $249.4 million, with each month so far this year showing continuous over-the-year improvement.

Imports from Mexico rose 4.7% to a total of $844.9 million. Imports from Canada increased by 14.8%, hitting $261.0 million.

Commodity flows through Arizona’s BPOE experienced a slight decrease in exports and strong gains in imports. Exports in July were down 0.1% over the year to $929.0 million. Imports were up 16.6% compared to July 2022, ascending to $1.8 billion.
