The Arizona-Mexico Economic Indicators: Arizona's Trade and Competitiveness in the U.S.-Mexico Region, Annual Report 2023, released June 30, 2023, summarizes key trends for the decade 2012-2022 and examines the recovery in trade from the impacts of the COVID-19 recession. This analysis was completed in June 2023, at this time monthly data through April 2023 had been released. This release of April 2023 data allowed the author to evaluate the recovery by comparing the bottom of the pandemic crash in early 2020 to recent performance. Overall, trade has recovered or nearly recovered across most indicators. Stay tuned to the website during 2023 for updates. As with the website, the Annual Report highlights Arizona's performance relative to other border states. Indicators and trends for U.S. and Mexico border states are bench-marked against national figures for the U.S. and Mexico.
